Ghost Research is where I step back from individual stories and look at hauntings themselves, asking where our beliefs about ghosts came from and why the same kinds of apparition keep turning up across Britain century after century. This section is also home to my longer-running projects, Haunt Field and Year One, where the research is ongoing and the conclusions are still being written. I don’t pretend to have settled whether ghosts exist, but I do think the question deserves more careful paranormal research than it usually receives.
